Varied issues affecting McLeod County’s rural areas will be on the agenda for next Monday night’s countywide gathering of township officials.
The McLeod County Township Association is meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, in the County Boardroom, McLeod County Courthouse, 830 11th St. S.E., Glencoe.
Hassan Valley Town Clerk Robert Anderson said the agenda will include an update on an initiative to form a county economic development authority. Also, a representative of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will explain changes to burning permit rules.
Discussion of problems with a program to replace traffic control signs in township areas — described by Anderson as “a never-ending issue” — will also likely be on the agenda. Area legislators, county commissioners and county department heads have also been invited to speak and answer questions at the meeting.
For more information, call Anderson at 320-587-6055, or call Donald R. Albrecht, Penn Township clerk, at 320-328-5375.
