HELP PLEASE!!! My name is Darcy Martin and I recently moved to Hutchinson over the past summer after my parents sadly passed away. I was at a garage sale on Texas Ave., between California and Minnesota St.'s, on 5/9/08, and my little 5-6lb., black and white Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix dog got out of my truck!!!
Hutchinson’s Park Hotel was torn down several decades ago, and stood at the northeast corner of Washington Avenue and Hassan Street on the site now owned by Ace Hardware.
I have memories of going to a cafe next to where the ace hardware store is now. I don't remember what it was called. But I remember going there and they had stools to sit on next to the counter.
John Korngiebel is the boy in this 1940 photo. His father Walter and crew painted the art moderne or deco style building upon its completion.
This fieldstone bath house was designed and built in the “park architecture” style in 1937.

I went to Vacation Bible School at Heatwole School and have good memories, Was sad to hear it had been replaced. Would love to know more history and more history of Heatwole in general.

Silas Jacobson, the same St. Paul architect who designed the Hotel Jorgenson, also designed the Hutchinson Hospital.
Hutchinson boasted three railroads and three depots when the Luce Line Depot was constructed in 1916.
