Ridgewater College’s Center for Customized and Continuing Education Child Development program is offering a seminar next month on emotional behavioral disorders.
The seminar, which takes place from 7 to 9 p.m., Oct. 23, at the Hutchinson campus, will help participants understand children’s mental health disorders and their impact on learning and functioning.
Even little ones have mental health disorders. Sometimes a child’s behavior signals the onset of a mental health disorder. What are “normal” behaviors and what are early warning signs? Participants will gain helpful information and techniques for creating interventions for home and school, and learn to work with others to meet a child’s needs
.
Sally A. Baas, Ed.S., is the session’s presenter. Bass, a trained school psychologist, is the director of the Concordia University Special Education/English as a Second Language program in St. Paul.
