Paramedics tended to an unidentified 4-year-old boy who fell from a stairway in downtown Hutchinson Friday afternoon. The stairway leads from a second-story doorway overlooking an alley in the 100 block of Main Street Southeast. Hutchinson police said the boy and his mother were leaving the building after visiting a friend in an upstairs apartment when he ran ahead and fell from the stairway under the railing. The boy was conscious when paramedics took him to Hutchinson Community Hospital around 1:25 p.m.
A man who lead authorities on a Grove City manhunt earlier this week now faces five charges, including three felony drug charges.
Devin Delbert Donald Blom was arrested Wednesday afternoon (Aug. 20) after eluding police who attempted to pull him over Tuesday night in rural Grove City. Blom was charged with third-degree felony sale of phencyclidine or hallucinogens, fifth-degree felony possession of 2 1/2 grams of methamphetamine, fifth-degree felony possession of 13 pounds of marijuana, fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, and misdemeanor driving after suspension.
The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office arrested a fugitive Wednesday (Aug. 20) afternoon after playing cat-and-mouse with him for almost a day.
Deputies, along with Litchfield Police and members of the CEE-VI drug task force, attempted to stop a green 1990 Ford Explorer, driven by Devin Delbert Donald Blom, near 280th Street in Grove City at about 5:46 p.m. Tuesday night.
Blom, already on supervised release for a second-degree burglary conviction from Kandiyohi County, was wanted on Meeker County drug charges and a felony first-degree burglary Kandiyohi County warrant.

The Sibley County Attorney’s office is seeking a charge of fourth-degree misdemeanor DUI against McLeod County Commissioner Sheldon Nies.
County Attorney Dave Schauer said Nies has no prior DUI convictions on his record. He has submitted a complaint to the McLeod County Court, which is still processing it. Nies declined to comment until he receives notice of the charge from the McLeod County Court.
One person was injured Saturday afternoon (Aug. 16) after a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 212 in Glencoe.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Carrie Huitt, 31, of Glencoe, was northbound on Falcon Avenue in a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville. She was stopped at a stop sign, then started through the intersection and was broadsided by an eastbound 2003 Ford Explorer.
McLeod County Commissioner Sheldon Nies was arrested June 11 under suspicion of driving under the influence, according to a statement issued today by the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office.
At 9:11 p.m. that night, the sheriff’s office received a report of a vehicle in the ditch at the intersection of Belle Lake Road and Vista Road, northwest of Hutchinson. After an initial investigation, Nies was arrested and brought to the County Jail under suspicion of driving under the influence.
Two people were injured Friday afternoon (July 25) after a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 212, east of Glencoe.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Ronald Carter, 56, of Hutchinson, was westbound in a 2008 Kenworth semi-trailer at about 2 p.m. when he rear-ended a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass and sideswiped a westbound 2006 Chevrolet Impala.
Edmund Ehrke, 76, of Plato, and his passenger, Lorna Ehrke, 96, of Plato, were taken to Glencoe Regional Health Services for treatment of injuries. Edmund had a possible back injury, Lorna had minor injuries.
A 45-year-old Glencoe truck driver received minor injuries when his 2006 Sterling semi-trailer ran off the road Saturday morning (July 26) and struck a house.
No alcohol was detected in Craig Zajicek’s bloodstream, according to the Minnesota State Patrol, after his truck ran into a house at 999 Elliot Ave., in Glencoe, at about 6:41 a.m. Zajicek was treated at Glencoe Regional Health Services and released.

A 22-year-old Maple Grove woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash Sunday (June 30) near Cedar Mills.
The State Patrol has not released the name of the woman, pending notification of family. According to the State Patrol, she was eastbound on State Highway 7 in a 2006 Saturn Ion at about 3:50 p.m.
