Two Hutchinson High School students, with help from their friends and classmates, are presenting a concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 24, at the Hutchinson High School.
Eric Radloff and Mike Lauer, both juniors at the school, have been working tirelessly on organizing talent, schedules, set lists and their own performance in the concert for the past several weeks.
The efforts are two-fold: One, the project counts toward the two students’ independent study course in music theory; and two, the concert will work as a fundraiser to attract a Minnesota composer to share his knowledge with students in the music department.
“We wanted to do something for the music program because they’ve done so much for us,” Lauer said.
The boys had the chance to meet and share their love of music with composer Bob Halligan and wanted to make sure that opportunity was available to those who follow.
“We wanted other kids to experience that,” he said.
