The next meeting of the Greenleaf State Recreation Area Citizens Advisory Committee is slated for 6 p.m., Monday, May 19 in the Meeker County Courthouse in Litchfield.

The focus of this meeting will be on projections for future regional demographic changes and desired future conditions and resource management in the recreation area.

The citizens committee is working in partnership with the Department of Natural Resources to formulate a comprehensive management plan for the new recreation area. Cathi Fouchi, DNR Regional Planner is facilitating the meetings.

“Members of the citizens committee represent a variety of interest groups from the area and serve as contacts for any individuals who would like to provide input into the process or who have questions,” Fouchi said. “It is very important that we hear all viewpoints and ideas as we move forward in this process.”
Fouchi explained that an important role of the citizens group is to serve as a conduit for the public and interest groups to provide input into the process.

“Members of the CAC are being asked to communicate as much as possible with area citizens to answer questions and obtain feedback on the plan as it is developed,” she said.
