Streets projects involving a roundabout and frost boils are parked on the agenda of the Hutchinson City Council’s meeting Tuesday night, May 13.
City Engineer Kent Exner will present information on the upcoming construction of a roundabout at the State Highway 15/North High Drive intersection. The council will have a public hearing on the project, but the Minnesota Department of Transportation is actually administering the work and is expected to open bids Friday.
The city is paying for associated water, stormwater and sanitary sewer work. Its portion of the project is estimated to cost about $436,200. Of that, only $82,300 would be assessed to property owners in the area. Ten property owners attended a May 1 open house on the project.
Extra maintenance caused by frost boils this spring is threatening to eat into money budgeted for street seal-coating projects planned this summer, Public Works Manager John Olson will tell the council.
The council meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the council chamber of City Center, 111 Hassan St. S.E.
