VFW baseball: Hutch teams sweep Eagle Lake

VFW 16s pitcher Dylan Weber held Eagle Lake to one run and three hits in a 2-1 win in game two of a home doubleheader Wednesday.

15s pitchers Philip Kuball and Max Cowger combined for a two-hitter in a 7-1 win in the first game. Ben Maiers drove in three runs for the Hutch 15s, who improved to 4-11 on the season.

Andrew ****** and courtesy runner Chris Snapp scored runs for the Hutch 16s, who are now 11-5.

Hutch 16s play New Ulm Gold at 5:30 p.m. next Wednesday.

Hutch 15s host Sleepy Eye at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
