Minnesota State Athletics has announced plans to memorialize former Maverick women’s cross country team member Caty Delwiche this Saturday.
Delwiche, a freshman member of the MSU women’s cross country team last fall, was on a training run when she was struck and killed by a vehicle Oct. 2, 2007.
In addition to the Caty Delwiche Memorial Open men’s and women’s competitions Saturday morning, MSU will unveil a plaque on the west wall outside of Myers Field House. A tree will be planted and a memorial stone marker will be placed at the accident site near the Mankato Church of Christ. Caty’s parents, Jeff and Michelle Delwiche, will serve as honorary captains at the MSU football game vs. Concordia-St. Paul (1:00 p.m. start).

10:30 a.m. Caty Delwiche Memorial Open - Women’s Race (Land of Memories)
11:30-11:45 a.m. Plaque dedication (Myers Field House)
Noon-12:25 p.m. Tree Planting/site marker dedication
