Power Limited Training courses will take place in December at Ridgewater College’s Hutchinson campus. Both an eight-hour and a 16-hour option will be available. The eight-hour program is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec 1. The 16-hour course runs concurrently, beginning at the same time and date but continuing on Dec/ 2 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This class will consist of National Electrical Code-related material as required by Minnesota statutes and rules as well as industry-related information. Course objectives include: wiring methods, grounding, transformers, over-current protection and other topics; installation methods, separation from power, and fireproofing, Ohms law: series and parallel AC and DC circuits, meter operation; systems theory: review of coaxial, Cat 5, HVAC, and/or speaker wiring.
The cost of the eight-hour course is $160. The 16-hour course is $320. Students will need the 2005 NEC Code Book, available at electrical wholesale locations, or for $82 the first day of class.
