We're only the second weekend into the summer movie season and already we have a disappointment.
The leap from popular TV cartoon to big screen movie doesn't guarantee box office gold as "Speed Racer" proved this weekend.
According to Box Office Mojo, "Iron Man" continued its grip on ticket sales ringing in another $50 million. "Speed Racer" came in second earning $20,210,000, barely sneaking past "What Happened in Vegas," with $20,000,000.
The next summer box office release is "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian," rated PG. It opens Friday, May 16. Fans take note: There’s a special showing at midnight Thursday, May 15 at Century 9 in Hutchinson.
