Polka Power: Happy music will be featured at Saturday’s Polka Jam in Glencoe

It’s foot-tapping music. No question about it.

Come Saturday, musicians and the public are welcome to tap and clap along to an afternoon of polkas, waltzes, schottisches and obereks (a Polish-type of waltz) as area musicians gather for the Minnesota Concertina Club Polka Jam. Sweetening the sound will be guest concertina player Greg Lehrke of Evansville.

The polka jam will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Glencoe Community Center, 719 13th St. E. The public is welcome and there’s no charge to attend. A potluck is planned, so bring a dish to pass. For more information,call Jeannie Enabnit at (320) 864-7669.
