Chance of rain Tuesday afternoon

One front is forecast to come through the area this week. It rolls through Tuesday afternoon and evening with small rainfall amounts expected. Sunshine returns Wednesday and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday: A 40 percent chance of showers after noon. Increasing clouds, with a high near 48. South wind between 5 and 14 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. South wind 5 to 11 mph becoming west northwest.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 44. Northwest wind between 10 and 16 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28. West northwest wind between 11 and 14 mph becoming calm.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 37.
