McLeod County has been selected to participate in a food distribution program called Food Outreach available through Second Harvest Heartland.
The program, sponsored by Common Cup Ministry and McLeod County Emergency Food Shelf enables individuals and families who are at the 200 percent poverty level or below, or experiencing a crisis to receive food and other household products at no cost.
Registration takes place at the time of distribution with a simple form that includes household size, household income and household members’ ages. There is no verification needed.
Individuals or families are asked to bring a box or laundry basket to pick up food and products. Blessings Boxes can be put together for those that are homebound and unable to attend.
