Boy Scouts to celebrate 80th anniversary

Boy Scout Troop 246 of Hutchinson is celebrating its 80th anniversary with a Summer Court of Honor event at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1040 South Grade Road, Hutchinson.

The public is invited to the event with a spaghetti dinner to follow. Troop 246 is especially looking for alumni to attend who can share stories and photos. Freewill offerings will be accepted.

Al-Anon is based on the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous and has as its purpose helping families with addictions. Those attending find that what they learn helps in many other aspects of their lives.

Crow River Builders Best Ball Golf Tourney

The Foundation for Challenged Children meets from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the Hutchinson Chamber office.
The mission of the Foundation for Challenged Children is to provide special needs for challenged children that insurance and government programs do not cover, such as learning and developmental tools and equipment. The organization helps people younger than 18 who are physically or mentally challenged.

Healthy individuals who are at least age 17 and weigh at least 110 pounds may be able to donate blood. Recent legislation now allows 16-year-old donors with an American Red Cross parent or guardian consent form the opportunity to donate also.
