In addition to a business meeting, volunteer training in preparation for natural disasters or single family disaster assistance will be conducted.

The quarterly meeting of Minnesota River Watershed Alliance will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at New Century Charter School’s main meeting room, 45 W. Highland Park Drive N.E., Hutchinson.

The discussion topic will focus on the Minnesota River Living Systems Project and its goal of improving water quality in the watershed.

The Watershed Alliance is an organized network of citizens, public agencies and private organizations dedicated to communicating the benefits of an ecology-healthy Minnesota River watershed and working towards watershed improvement and protection.

McLeod County Senior Citizens meeting and potluck picnic will be at noon Wednesday, July 16, at Lester Prairie City Hall. The oldest man and oldest woman attending will be recognized at the meeting.

Healthy individuals who are at least age 17 and weigh at least 110 pounds may be able to donate blood. Recent legislation now allows 16-year-old donors with an American Red Cross parent or guardian consent form the opportunity to donate also.

The Living Water Puppets will be presenting a special message during the worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, July 20, at Grace Bible Church, Cleveland Avenue, Silver Lake.
Jonathan Pixler, a missionary and professor in Kazakhstan, will preach the morning message during the worship service.
