The 16th annual Motorcycle and Classic Car Run will take place Saturday, May 17. The event begins in Hutch-inson at Library Square (corner of Main Street and First Avenue S.E.).
Registration is from 8 to 9:30 a.m. The run will leave from Library Square promptly at 9:30 a.m., and head north on State Highway 15. The requested donation to participate is $15 per vehicle.
A freewill donation meal and live music by Second Chance will take place from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Everyone, including those not able to participate in the run, is invited to attend the meal and concert.

The second Car Buffs’ breakfast of the 2008 summer season has been set for 9 a.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Straw Hat Grill in Buffalo Lake.

The group will have the opportunity to view two car collections following the breakfast. The event is sponsored by the Willmar Car Club and is open to all area car enthusiasts.

The breakfasts take place the first Saturday of each month, May through November, at area restaurants to give car enthusiasts a chance to view and discuss collector cars and vintage vehicles. The next breakfast will be July 5 at the American Legion in Spicer.

The McLeod County Chapter of American Red Cross is sponsoring “The Ride for the Red,” Saturday, June 7. Registration is from 8 to 10 a.m. at the McLeod County Fairgrounds, 840 Century Ave. S.W., Hutchinson. The ride begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. at the fairgrounds, with door prize drawings and a beautiful bike contest.

Riders can also join the ride at 11 a.m. at the Waseca County Red Cross office, 511 S. State St., Waseca.

A representative of the Legal Advocacy for Older Americans Project will meet with senior citizens at the following times and places:

• 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 9, Plaza 15 Senior Center, 1005 State Hwy. 15 S., Hutchinson

Attorneys and paralegals for the project can assist seniors with problems in Social Security, Medicare, Medical Assistance, food stamps and fuel assistance. In addition, the project handles problems with housing, consumer law and insurance to supplement Medicare. The services are provided without charge, however, donations can be accepted.
