Hey, they got me the laptop, so why not utilize it to update our GFW readers who may have been working and couldn't make it.

You're right. We checked with Coach Rostberg on it for the print edition. I was on the far end of the field and saw the pass, but missed that the PAT snap had been dropped by the holder. He then passed to tight end Muckenhirn, who was stopped short of the goal line on the two-point attempt. Thank you.

It was an exciting game to watch... the cliche fits, too bad someone had to come out on the short end of the score. One question: Terry, you note in your story that Hutchinson faked the extra-point kick. Was that a planned two-point play? On the radio after the game, the coach said the Tigers' late-game strategy would have been different if they had a 7-6 lead rather than a 6-all tie. Hard to figure the 7-6 lead if they didn't plan on kicking the ball. What's zup?

Personally, I thought the performance was weak. The team was ill-prepared. I heard the hype and expected a bit more. Although, I am realistic in realizing it's game and it comes down to being prepared. I always tell my athletes there are two types of athletes- those that come to perform and the ill-prepared. You choose what you want to be. Then again, I do EVERYTHING in my power to insure they have the skills neccessary to facilitate success.

It happens at any level. Look at the college games last weekend. Things happen. More importantly, I hope that Hutch uses this as a growing experience. For the past how many years, the NCAA Champion has lost a game in season. It's not over- not by any means. Sometimes the most humbling losses bring the most change.

bellelakebigshot... you like the sound of your own voice and love your sarcasm... but I dont. Those kids played hard, made some costly mistakes and lost. Period end of story.

You along with countless others both past and present come on here and begin teeing off on the coaches, players, and everything else that could remotely be blamed for a lose or poor play. And its getting really old. Why everyone has to constantly kick the teams everytime they lose or are down is beyond me. Picnic tables being the wrong way? Karma from the track? AD issues? None of those things could ever lead to a loss?!?

This town has for the longest time had a rich tradition of being proud supporters of Hutchinson Tiger Athletics and many still are but more and more are dying off and resorting to the Leader website for moral support as they rag on and ridicule all aspects of the athletic programs. Its quite pathetic. True fans support and lift up their team regardless of win or lose.

I played varsity athletics at HHS and had a blast doing it and one of the coolest things about it was the amount of support we got from the community and to see this going on now is sickening and childish. All im saying is a loss is a loss and a win is a win. Be proud of and support the kids and coaches in all that they do. You'd be surprised what a little encouragement can do.

I have played and coached at the high school level... GSL was clearly the better team. They seemed better prepared and more hungry... perhaps explains why they have been state champions in the past several years. You don't have to be an armchair quarterback/coach to see the difference in a romp like that...
