There were a couple

There were a couple incidents while filming the opening car chase. In one of them, two stuntmen was hurt badly while staging the head-on crash between a car and a truck. Six days earlier, a driver was delivering an Aston Martin to the set when he lost control of the vehicle and drove into a lake.

I don't think there were any fatalities on-set.

Quantum was action-packed

Quantum was action-packed and very good. As a Bond fan, I liked the grit of the movie. It seemed to have less tuxedos and casino-hopping scenes, but more action. Bond was more renegade agent than ladies man. It was interesting to see how "M" tried to handle him.

I liked the locations in the movie, too. The car chase scenes reminded me that you posted an item about a bad accident during filming. Was someone killed? Do you know if that happened in the Siena Italy car chase?

Casino Royale aired on

Casino Royale aired on Showtime last weekend. I saw it at the theater, and was equally impressed seeing it a second time.
It seems like there is new life in the franchise, which is good news for Bond fans.
I read an earlier post of yours about an unmade Bond movie with Sean Connery in New York. It demonstrates the interest by many who want these movies to be the standard for action and story. Perhaps Mr. Bourne has helped steer Bond back to quality and entertainment.

Looks like the new guy is

Looks like the new guy is already spilling the beans on
"Bond 22" details. In an interview posted on BourneStuntSimulator.Com, Bradley revealed he gets to smash Aston Martins and Ford GTs in the upcoming Bond flick.

The Ford GT is the company's $150,000 supercar.
Click here for pictures of it and try not to drool on your keyboard.

I've heard "Casino Royale"

I've heard "Casino Royale" was the most commercially successful Bond film to date.

Also, although he hasn't been officially added to the cast list for "Bond 22" on imdb.com, Giancarlo Giannini, who played the character of Rene Mathis in "Casino Royale," told an Italian newspaper late last month that he is returning for the next picture.

I think that's great news. I've only seen Giannini in two roles, as Mathis and as a corrupt Italian cop in "Hannibal." I thought his performances in both films were excellent. He adds a touch of Old World class.

One last observation and then I'm done. I think it's fun to watch the Bond movies of the late '70s and early '80s because the music scores are so disco-influenced. Take the "The Spy Who Love Me." There's the great skiing sequence at the beginning, with the classic Bond theme given a funky treatment. You've got the chicka-chicka-wah-wah guitar and woodblock percussion which probably sounded so darned cool in '77 8-)

Thanks for the Bond update.

Thanks for the Bond update. To show my age, I remember going to Moonraker as a kid. Jaws was scary. I am glad Daniel Craig is coming back. Is it true that Casino Royale was as financially successful as any Bond film? If so, I'm surprised the director didn't want to come back.

I'll be a fan whoever directs it, but it was nice to see the franchise go back to a grittier style.

Here's an update on "Bond

Here's an update on "Bond 22." I just read that Martin Campbell, director of "Casino Royale," announced he won't be coming back for the sequel. I'm a little bummed about that, but hopefully Eon Productions will hire someone just as talented to direct the next one. I liked the gritty realism of "Casino Royale" and I'm curious to see how much of a difference a new director will make.
