I am hoping that the Hutchinson Leader will give equal press to all of the candidates running for County Commissioner. On a side note, we probably are not being informed completely about the dismissal of Nan Crary but whatever the reason obviously Ms. Crary has an agenda that she wants implemented. This probably is not bad - I think most people running for office have a personal agenda as part of their reason for running for office. Why else would you put yourself in a situation where all of your privacy is lost, your telephone will never be quiet (unless you have an unlisted number) and you will always be on duty because even in church you may approached regarding some issue facing whatever office you are holding. Good luck to all of the candidates!!

I don't know Nan and how she ran the show personally. But if if she is waiting until now to be a "player on the field" and a "decision maker" than I have a feeling why she was let go.

Nan Crary uses a sports metaphor to describe her decision to run for a seat on the McLeod County Board.

For seven years, she was an observer of county government, as a reporter for the Fairmont Sentinel. For 21 years, she was an advisor, serving as Faribault County’s coordinator and McLeod County’s administrator.

“I moved from the press box down to the bench, right at the edge of the playing field,” Crary said. “Now, maybe, is my opportunity to be a player on the field. A participant. A decision maker.”
