It stood until 1937, or nearly 40 years. The opening of the school was announced with fanfare in the Leader. The story went into detail about the building's large size and impressive apppointments including Menomonie red brick and Kasota stone trimmed exterior, graceful Ionic columns, glass wall dividing two laboratories, oak stairs and Venetian blinds. </p> <p>The school housed the upper grades. Its neighbor, the Bell Tower or South School, was home to lower grades. Both were demolished in December 1937 to make way for Park Elementary. </p> <p>Do you or a family member have memories of the Pendergast School? Do you know of any surviving artifacts?
