Jack White and Alicia KeysThe new James Bond film theme, "Another Way to Die" was released for digital purchase everywhere in the world except North America today.
We officially can download the song, written and performed by Jack White and Alicia Keys, starting Tuesday. Or, you can listen to a lower-quality version of it by clicking the play button below, courtesy of some sneaky devils at imeem.com. I love the Internet.
Personally, I'm not all that impressed. The song is OK, but I think it's a little generic. Jack White's music tends to be a bit weirder and more interesting than this. For this song, he seems to have hewed to safer, more commercially friendly territory.
I guess I expected another classic along the lines of McCartney's "Live and Let Die," Duran Duran's "A View to a Kill" or even Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name."
Oh, well. The movie looks like it's going to rock, and ultimately that's the most important thing.
"Quantum of Solace" opens Nov. 14, and I know of at least one local theater that's giving it a midnight showing that morning. If I'm a little late to work that Friday, you'll know why.
