Thanks to Datlaf Weseloh of Hutchinson for his help assembling the history of the Temple. Since much of the contents of the lodge were auctioned just prior to its demolition in 1983, the Leader is interested to learn if any of its furniture, memorabilia or artifacts survive today. The Leader is also interested in interior photos that may be in personal photo albums.

Readers can post photos or memories here, or drop them off at the address above.

The Temple was across the street from the bandstand in Library Square. It is a public parking lot now east of the 101 Park Place building downtown.

Once again in a desperate quest to find parking for the downtown area, another fine historical building was lost, replaced by a parking lot of all things. When will the next building hit the wrecking ball? A lot of cars could fit in the footprint of the Library I bet!
