Huskies clinch top two spot; can clinch No. 1 seed

A late night, and an early start to the morning (thanks to the three inches of rain in St. Peter yesterday, and the start of the VFW 15s sub-districts being moved to this morning).

The big news of the day is that Hutchinson has clinched a first round for the Region 8B playoffs. Hutchinson holds the tie-breakers with both Dassel-Cokato and St. Michael (who lost to Maple Lake, 8-7, Thursday).

Hutchinson can also clinch the top seed (hence avoiding a potential semifinal game with St. Michael or D-C) with a win Monday over Delano, or a split between St. Michael and D-C this weekend.

Also of note, congrats to the Huskies on winning the North Star League East Division.

The first round of the region playoffs begin July 30 in Delano. Two of the bottom four teams will be eliminated that weekend leaving the final four for the following week.
