Moment No. 3
June 29: Huskies 4, Dassel-Cokato 3
For the first time in five years, Hutchinson beat the Dassel-Cokato Saints, 4-3. The hero again was Justin Juergensen, who drove in the tying and winning runs in the seventh inning on one of his two doubles in the game.
“When you hit behind guys like Tim Thode and Luke Klitzke, it seems like you always have a chance to drive in runs. I guess it comes down to being in the right spot at the right time,” he said.
Pitcher Kyle Messner shut the door on the Saints in the ninth inning, leaving the tying run at third base on a strikeout. Adam Padrnos pitched eight innings, allowing seven hits and two earned runs.
“Every year we get to these guys and it seems like we roll over. But this year we were up for the challenge and kept coming back even when it looked like we might be in trouble,” Padrnos said. “I got a little tired there late, but I knew that if I could get the ball to Kyle with the lead late in the game, we were in good hands."
